Normandy Allies, Inc.

Normandy Allies, Inc. was founded in 1997 by Marsha Smith and Mary M. Stubler, nieces of S/Sgt. Benedict A. Smith, killed in action in Normandy on July 30, 1944. Marsha and her parents’ visit to S/Sgt Smith’s grave in Normandy in 1996, lead to the genesis of the Normandy Allies, Inc. travel programs, designed to promote greater historical understanding of the 1944 liberation of Normandy. From the first journey in 1999 through 2019, Normandy Allies brought 241 students, 26 Normandy Campaign veterans, 43 teachers and many families of veterans or those simply interested in the history to Normandy. Normandy Allies Inc dissolved on 30 September 2021.
