Originally from Belgium, Geert Van den Bogaert, moved to Normandy in 2002 where he decided to combine a B. A. degree in Tourism and Travel Management with his knowledge and passion for conveying history. As professional tour guide and heritage interpreter, Geert Van den Bogaert has close to 20 years of experience guiding visitors at cultural and historical heritage sites in Normandy through museum tours, guided walks and bus tours. He worked for the D-Day Commemoration Committee and the American Battle Monuments Commission, the US Government Agency that maintains America’s overseas military cemeteries, for 10 years before starting his own business in 2013. Program manager with experience in operating tour programs and organizing special events through different media, including 2 documentary films, Geert also has 5 years of experience in training 100+ tourism and heritage professionals from over 10 different countries as a Certified Interpretive Trainer of guides with the National Association for Interpretation. Geert is also an active member of the Normandy Battlefield Tour Guides Association. He is fluent in English, French and Dutch.
